Dear Friends;
The entirety of last weekend was an absolute delight, and surely the very best experience of our lives to date. Everyone involved was nothing but wonderful, and as the fervent…

Back home amidst the sun and cats and suitcases. The browns of NorCal are always such a contrast to the lush greens of Britain.
Our last day in Edinburgh, ending now with dinner at a Californian restaurant and excellent people at Dagda. It’s been marvelous.
Taking advantage of the “high” state of the dollar and the “low” state of the pound. Shopping day in Old and New Towns. Feeling consumerist.
I’ve discerned that I want to dress like an old man for the rest of my life. Wool and tweed waistcoats and jackets and slacks ‘til the end!
This should be the last day of good weather while we’re around. Which is saying something, considering it’s been raining here since May.
Cheers to those who popped ‘round for some pints and, apparently, lactating man-teats. @cygnoir had been warned, but she fit right in.
Headed to the Brass Monkey with @cygnoir tonight around 8pm. Edinburgh folk, ahoy!
Tuesday Night's Plan →
The ‘Sted and I will be popping ‘round the Brass Monkey tonight soon after 8pm. Would love to catch up with Edinburgh folk if you’ve got the time and would finally like to meet the cygnet. No…
Around the Rosie. →
A good place for it, and a good answer. I am a lucky man.
Delightful to be back in Edinburgh again, even with the roadworks everywhere. This time, with @cygnoir along, makes it so wonderful.
Thanks to our friends for your kind words on the news. More as it comes when we return this weekend.
Nineteen caches logged in Scotland so far. We’ve got four ready for St. Andrews and a dozen set for Edinburgh. Really perfect landscape.
Two new pens for the collection: Parker Profile and Parker Jotter, both on sale at John Lewis. They’re cute, but not terribly serious.
Uni-focused meeting at St. Andrews tomorrow morning and then on to Edina!
Caching in Granite Aberdeen all day; winds nearly took out @cygnoir at the Gallowgate. Foiled at Provost Skene’s house, damnit.
The truth is out there: she said yes.
Safe in Aberdeen and happy to be enjoying Blue Moon curry and Martin Estate Rutherford Cabernet. Shit, it even pairs with the incense.
Brief access at the Mill of Divach, enough to pass on the good word that we’ve tilted and laughed and danced. Loch Ness is lovely from here.
We’ll be updating our Geocaching profile with our triumphant finds, and a cunning scheme has been crafted to watch Toboso globetrot.
I told @cygnoir this evening that I must deeply remember the sweet, larchy smell of the foliage in the Central Highlands. Want to bottle it.
At the Pitlochry Golf Club with @hermiston and company, enjoying supper and wi-fi. Geocaching at Killiecrankie tomorrow and then northward.
On the Caledonian Canal in Ft. Augustus. First network since Glasgow. So much to catch up on!
Torgi has somehow managed to cover one of our suitcases with his fur. He’s been loving it all. night. long. Was it the Martin Cab within?
Up earlier than normal for sleep deprivation on the airplane. @cygnoir can sleep anywhere; I’m too busy pooping myself when flying.
And Off We Go Again. →
It’s somewhat embarrassing for me to somehow expect people to follow the things I write here when I’ve been such a miserable correspondent for the past half a year. The routines that we easily make -…
Gentle Morning.
The last in the States for a while, and thank goodness. Morning sunlight on our back porch, however, is soft and splendid. One cat is humping a suitcase, the other is snoozing on her fuzzy throw. The cygnet still sleeps, and I’m doing a bit of last-minute paperwork for the store and getting ready to water the plants. It’s these rare moments of perfect intentional direction that appease...
packing
Woo, we are bringing a lot of stuff.
Thanks for the kind travel wishes; will be reporting from the road, for sure. Next stop: Glasgow. Now, to stay up all night!
